This is a great song musically, but you can't deny that the lyrics " i was told a fairy story 'til I believed in the israelite( Jesus)" are anti christian. The next line Lake compares the fairy story about Jesus to the fraud that is Santa Claus, "I saw him through his disguise". If You listen to the U2 version, Bono, a Christian, changes the words to " but I believed in the israelite." I subtle change but done for a reason.

a very differnt feel from Emerson, Lake and Palmers which seems to have this underlying angst...a tension with the music I always really liked. I think U2s version is emotive in a different way, but still works for this song. and as far as the lyrics " til i believed in the israelite" how does that make it anti- christian, jujutiles? Sounds like someone "found" christ if anything?
