i am 19 & recently working as a customer representative at AOL in one of the contact cnters based here in the Philippines.Watching this, it is really freaking annoying. It is rily a gud thing that AOL made major changes in rgards w/ call flow. It was a yr ago since this incident hppened & AOL learned a lot from this call. I am looking forward for more changes from the company. Also I feel bad for the AOL members who were aggrevated.

why dont you just go for aol basic dial up which will cost you USD 9.95 amonth. unlimited dial up usage, unlimited usage of aol on top of a high speed internet etc etc.. that way may be your bill wont go up that high. or switch to a free AOL if you already have a high speed internet,

omg the same thing happened to us. i HATE aol, and their internet service was always cutting off. ugh, it was a horrible experience. and afterwards it took forever to get all of its software completely removed from my computer. DON'T GET AOL!!!

I did training for one of T-Mobile's call centers and they TRAIN you to do everything possible so that people will not cancel as well as many other forms of blowing smoke for various reasons to put it nicely. Needless to say, I decided not to remain there after seeing this.

John is not the problem here. The guy calling seems to have serious isues. Everybody know that an call center employee must ask this questions and try to "anti-churn" the customer. The customer of course realize this and can still be polite AND cancell his account. It's not hard unless you are method acting for "Psycho 2008".
In the end I think that John getting fired was the best thing that could happen to him... AOL suxx! :-)

based on there costumer service i can see why. you should never have to explain why you want to cancel and account, i would have talked to a superviser, its fine to ask why your canceling but if they dont want to explain then o well. the rep should have never spoken to him like that ever! i would have spoken to his boss
