I don't know that he "foresaw the subprime crisis." He rails against forecasting consistently.
If he foresaw something, it was that everyone else assumed something like a subprime crisis wouldn't happen. There's a difference.

If folks would finally admit that they don't know shit we would be so far ahead of the game.
Take our incoming gov't. Obama (I voted for him) says he wants to do XYZ to get back to a growing economy. PROBLEM IS he is taking giant risks with debt and monetary inflation that could DESTROY THE NATION to do it.
We would be MUCH BETTER OFF balancing the budget and slogging through a period of adjustment than going insane with spending to fight what isn't the worst case scenario.

That blonde haired woman interviewer is so irritating. Her body language and sharp little voice are making Nassim nervous and not giving him enough space, and interrupting him without having heard or understood what he is saying. She has no feel for the communication between the three people she is supposed to be interviewing. Nassim is deep and interesting, he isn't a cheap sideshow. It is her job to put him at ease. She has drawn out zero communication between the three interviewees.

100% agree.... but let me make just one remark: weather forecasters do not influence on weather... economists and financial forcasters do influence on economic and financial variables and decisions EVERY DAY. Economics and finance schools should form professional and sincere scientists like Taleb, not the usual arrogant morons.
