I don't understand why people have such an aversion to "classical" music. They think that all of it is peaceful and lengthy and boring, when in reality, "classical" music encompasses every emotion and every mindset. Music from the 20th century in particular can be much more rageful, angular, and "hardcore" than any bat-eating, guitar breaking, single-dynamic thrash rocker.

many people are very ignorant when it comes to classical music. They never get out of the same circle of music they hear so they just think of classical music as boring and quite.

I love Shosty... his music has so much spirit and passion and without it just being random clashing notes. Some of his work isn't so wild... the contrast from the first and second movements of his 5th symphony are quite drastic, ranging from sheer rage to a Russian folk tune... gotta love him!

actually, I listen both Metal and 20th century music. you get things in this music that you dont get in metal AND VICEVERSA. its true that there are very dumb bands out there, but there are also good metal musicians which have got lots of inspiration from bartok, shostakovich etc and do really good stuff; they dont just play random notes, they know what they are doing. please dont get me wrong, I understand your opinion, but I just wantet to point out that there is high quality metal out there
