Well, Hetfield is pushing 50 years old. He can't sing like that forever. I think he got his vocal groove back on Death Magnetic though. Sure he can't hit notes he once could, but that's what tuning down 1/2 or a whole step was invented for..lol Compensating for a singers lack of range.
