As a religious person I happen to agree with the lyrics, think about it. It's a song trying to suggest that maybe we're better off not worrying about such things. God will sort it all out in the end. At least thats my interpretation.
The song itself is great as well, regardless.

i think it has more to do with god's fan club... christians that don't know how to answer questions and can't just say "I Don't Know" or better yet they always say "I don't know, i'll have to ask someone else about that" because they can't think for themselves.... whuttever i'm an athiest so i think it's a great song

To me this is about how we as people rely on outsiders telling us what we want to know. Even if we are not religious, we can be meek and not only look for the answers we want. and if we are kind and patient we will find out the answers for ourselves. Represented by the people all asking the questions and not getting their answer. The child who doesnt lose his temper but thinks for himself finds out its run by an old man in a booth.

No dude. the point is that god is a projection of man. We can conceive of cute WORDS like "perfect" and "infinite," but we CAN'T conceive of their supposed MEANINGS. That is why god just shuffles his feet. There can't be an answer to the question because the human mind can't understand it. Because there IS no answer to the question. To explain this, humans have decided that God is mysterious, or that God wants us to learn ourselves. God knows, because man knows. He is a created idealization.

This song is fantastic, I'm surprised it isn't as well known as MMM MMM.

God is like sarcasm. Used correctly, it can do wonders. Used incorrectly and its completely useless and nonsensical.
This is a beautiful song. I think fighting about what the song means proves that you have absolutely no idea.
