nails7848 - I don;t think my sexuality is any of your concern. What I'm trying to say is that a god who commands people be stoned to death because they fall in love with someone he disapproves of is neither a god of mercy nor of love.
I don't believe in god. I am very glad about this because it means I can live my life free of the bigotry which is an intrinsic part of worshipping such a naarrow minded and violent hatemonger.

Selfish? hmmm, I think God is trying to say He is the only God and we shall worship him and He alone. And rightly so, I mean, who else gave us the Universe, a beautiful world to live in, his one and only Son to sacrifice his life for us and an opportunity to live with him for eternity in heaven?
Only one, and that is God! He is right to command us to praise Him, only Him.

God created us and loves us all equally. Thus there's no such thing as a 'mistake.' The Vatican Church has recognized that homosexuals have a different cross to bear than all of us. This means, just the same as the cross we have to bear, a.k.a. resisting temptation such as premarital sex, sexual acts, greed, etc.etc.,....

homosexuals have that extra temptation to resist: homosexual acts//sexual interaction with someone of the same sex. If we can all resist these temptations, and live as God intended us to, then no one is denied from heaven.
This all goes along with hate the sin, not the sinner. It is not the person we are to hate, but the actions they choose to partake. Thus, confession/repentance comes to light--...

...Convert you or anything, just trying to educate you about the Christian beliefs, just as you are, in a way, educating others here of your beliefs.
You do have some interesting questions though, I wouldn't be surprised if you were a professor somewhere heh.

I'm sorry but I will never see how someone could deserve an eternity of suffering simply because they fall in love with someone of whom god disapproves. That you teach such hatemongering to children is especially abominable. I certainly don't see how you can espouse such bigotry and then call your god 'merciful' or 'loving'. It makes me wonder,if you have no problem with this would you also, as in the OT, happily kill children in thename of god?

steelvan - Yes, I see what you're saying. But the only cross gays have to bear is the one you foist upon them. A gay man can be quite happy with his lot, in a caring and loving relationship, a good person etc etc. Then along comes a christian and says "What you are doing is sinful and you must stop it or you'll burn forever in hellfire'. Now ignoring the fact that there is no god, and so this is just people's bigotry being given a convenient excuse, you have simply made people's lives worse.

You're born gay, live your life as well as you can. Meet other gays, hang out and eventually falli love with someone and settle down. You have a job, a loving family and are generally a good person. All the time there's christians hanging around going "You're a Sinner ! Repent!" and attempting to make you feel guilty.

But it doesn't end there. It goes on to say in verse 11 "But you were washed, but you were santified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus."

To those who say gay people can't go to heaven, you're wrong.
God tells us that even though we are sinners, we are forgiven by God through the blood of Christ. My point is, though sinners could not inherit the kingdom of God before, all people who accepted Jesus are clean in His eyes and are open to heaven(including homosexuals).

Without repentance there is no hope of salvation. Making Jesus our Lord means obeying Him, He can not be your saviour unless you make Him your Lord. Homosexual's who continue in their sin, not even trying to change, thinking that they are born again and saved are deceived.
