Hey Lezlie15,
Here are a few reasons:
1) cheaper (you only buy the diaper once)
2) more absorbent (in my experience)
3) better for the environment

I have a combination of all-in-ones, fitteds, and prefolds (which I intend to pin or Snappi). BUT, it NEVER occured to me to fold it that other way you showed, for a smaller baby!! I will have to keep that in mind! I have always just seen them folded in thirds lengthwise! Cool!

This was a great video... very thorough! We've been CD'ing our daughter for 5 months now because she got diaper rash from all the disposables we'd tried. We're saving so much money now and using cloth is NOT the hassle I expected! Plus it's so much better for the environment.
If someone told me when I was single that someday I would be excited about diapers, I would never have believed them :) Your kiddo is ADORABLE, btw :)
